    FS2021 Lite Brite Prize

    f80cc8b2d40af157f85d29664244ab2c.jpg

This year I’m sponsoring a pointless prize called Lite Brite.

    Rules:
    1) Submissions must occur during FS2021
    2) Photos must be your own- tag the photo or your Strava ride with the hashtag #LiteBrite
    3) Submit as many entries into this thread in as many categories as you wish.
    4) Photos must either feature your bike or be taken while riding your bike. Extra points if they include your team member(s).

Points will be awarded for the following categories, but only the best will win per category:
    1) Brightest bike light display
    2) Reflective tape/reflector art
    3) Best team light theme
    4) Best / most outrageous hi viz outfit
    5) Best public art light display e.g Georgetown, Zoo Lights, Meadowlark)
    6) Best reflective body art (e.g. reflective paint, safety skin, etc.)
    7) Best 15 second or less light/reflective video submission.
    8) Best natural/atmospheric light (e.g. sunrise, sunset, fireworks, Northern lights, fire, moonlight, etc.)
    9) (and by popular demand) Brite Lite a ninja- document providing a ninja with bike lights so they aren’t a trail hazard
    10) Most Lit Doggo- because doggos are cute and I pander. Extra points if dog is up for adoption. You win the category outright if you adopt doggo, commit to taking care of it for its lifetime, and put a light on it.

Points will be based on a combination of forum likes, level of difficulty, and artistry, so totally subjective :)

    Prizes will be bada$$!

Cat 5: Another flag to celebrate inauguration. This one is more austere, in Georgetown near the intersection of N St and Wisconsin.

I’m not sure there are a lot of entries for Cat 1 – brightest.
This tree in Alexandria is really, really bright. I can’t even blink, so you can imagine the discomfort.

I saw this during the day and did not realize it lights up, too.

This is an unknown category, but I’m submitting at AlanA’s recommendation. It has lots of lights of different colors (yellow, red, blue), and both rows of little lights and more ambient lighting as well.

This truck tried to take a turn it wasn’t really capable of, and seems to have gotten stuck. There were a lot of cars backed up behind it, and people going down one way streets the wrong way to get out. It’s nicely lit up though, and it has really aggressive, sharp lines. It’s definitely a sharp-looking vehicle.

Not sure if it’s for the upcoming Independence Day on Feb 16 or Carnival, but the Embassy of Lithuania was lit up today.

I took these cat 5 photos last weekend and keep forgetting to post them. Maybe all these subzero temps have frozen my brain. This was my -1 degrees F for Team One ride. I got a better picture of the little tree on the bike path (even though it was 19 degrees colder than when I froze while taking the last picture–getting used to extreme cold!).

This ride was in Minneapolis, so I thought it would be good to get some local BLM and George Floyd activism for the DC (and elsewhere) crowd.

Btw, is there a category for people lit up while walking across lakes? It’s not much a light show, but I figured it was a light show that you don’t get to see in DC.
