#LakeFinder – Pond at RedGate Park, which was a former golf course. The Rockville Bike Hub would love to see a velodrome built here! Does anyone know how to get this started or funded?
No idea, but just chiming in that a velodrome in the area (even if I’m no longer there) would be awesome! There was a CX race last year (well two years ago I suppose, but the last functional CX season) that was a fun use of the property.

Yes, this park would be great for that too! I just need to figure how to get this started. There was a DC Velodrome group that was talking about one a couple of years back. But I can’t find any current contact information.

Participant#Lakefinder in New Mark Commons neighborhood of Rockville. Too bad the fountain was not working at Lake New Mark. It looks much nicer with it.

ParticipantPerhaps another questionable #lakefinder, but this is the Southwest Duck Pond. Unfortunately it was under renovation for a while but they recently finished and now just need to finish filling the pond!

ParticipantWell, both Dalecarlia and McMillan reservoirs are fenced off (no trespassing sign too), so I won’t be able to claim them. There were two turtles on rock (left edge center)

ParticipantBelated announcement of the BAFS2021 #LakeFinder results, and the winner is …. @consularrider who outpaced his competitors by a factor of 2X despite having several of his submissions disqualified due dubious dry puddles that were loosely claimed as “bodies of water”
The prize is one of the originals art pieces below depicting a true “body of water” that were kindly donated by the artist himself, BAFS’s very own @FastFriendlyGuy.
@Consularrider your surprise prize is, as they say, “in the Mail”.Congratulations to all of the 2021 LakeFinders for playing. And please note that this pointless prize is NOT being sponsored for 2022.

My “Pointless Prize” arrived yesterday (rest day)! Thanks Boomer (and FFG)! It will go nicely with HRH’s watercolour of St Michael’s Mount.

That is wonderful, and you are most welcomed, but it was also well earned by you. Ride & Seek!
