ParticipantWhat water? Puddles, this ain’t no puddle.
I been here in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and now Winter.
LAKE NEEDLE now with added ice. Let’s just say that having a thing base lawyer and a jacket for a 38f predicted ride that ended up being in the 30 with a feel like 18f made it for a very winter chilly ride.
But I need to start the game with a BOOOOM.
Would have taken more photos but, again I was a popsicle at this point and plus Boomer knows that I don’t stop in my rides unless I am with him (which we will have to stop for all of the #s in the freezing saddles games, which makes a 2hour journey a 7 hour journey TRUE STORY).

ParticipantOnce again, pushing the envelope of #lakefinder.
At Swindler Cove there is Sherman Creek Park. In the park are three ponds/pools. The lower one had very little water today and was overgrown with reeds and grass. The middle one is tiny and the upper one (Jonathan’s Pond) is in a section of Riley-Levin Children’s Garden next to PS 5,

Reminder about “discernible” surface water, though at least the middle one cements your standing as lead #puddlefinder LOL

The problem with Jonathan’s Pond was that it was mostly covered with ice and snow. Here’s another shot with just ice,

ParticipantSpotted this frozen pond while wormholing from Wisconsin to Mass via the Whitehaven trail. I run by this all the time and had not noticed this before, probably because it’s usually hidden by the trees in the warmer months.

Are you trying to steal my “biggest puddle” finder crown?

ParticipantWe are just halfway past the #BAFS2021 season and the #lakefinder (not CaSe SeNsItIvE) leaderboard shows that we’ve had 28 participants so far, which is great. Thanks for playing!
consularrider is squarely on top of the leaderboard (but I need to verify several of his frozen-dry puddle and non-discernible surface water submissions [emoji3166]) with Karenh in second place, and Cathym in third, with a very crowded field in hot pursuit. My points don’t count, as sponsor of this pointless prize (which is a contradiction in terms, I know [emoji849])
https://freezingsaddles.org/pointless/hashtag/lakefinder
I may need to institute some wild card bonus point opportunities to make this challenge more competitive for the second half of the BAFS2021 season.
Now go ride your bike to find your lake!

Sorry didn’t mean to! Hmm now that you mention, it does seem more like a puddle than a pond so I will withdraw this one.
