#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #41. After a Monday morning departure seminar and lunch at the CG, I headed east from Frankfurt and my first overnight was at the LandGasthof zum Quelle in Aufenau. After arriving there I went out for another loop, stopping a a small bike shop to get my chain replaced (wouldn’t stay in the large rear cog and slipped in a couple others). The owner was very helpful since I rolled by as he was closing (4 pm). Then I headed back a couple kilometers to Wächterbach and none of the cafes in the Altenstadt were open so I stopped at the Pappert I’d been to a year ago for coffee and Windbeutel.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #42. Rhön Tour Day 2, Aufenau to Oberweißenbrunn with a loop around Bischofsheim an der Rhön. I stopped in Altengronau at the Kirchebäcker in the Netto grocery on the west end of town for an Apfelplunder with my coffee. I should have been a little patient and gone to the same bakery next to the church in the center of town. My second coffee stop was at the Museum Cafe at the Deutsches Fahrrad Museum at the Staatsbad Bad Brückenau. Too bad I arrived during the lunch shut down.

.#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #43 Der Rhöner Bierradweg in Bavaria. I stopped at two different Schmitts Backstubes, the first in Unsleben where I stopped at Geisler bike shop to get my rear derailleur adjusted. I enjoyed a Kaffee Creme and Buttercoissant about a block from the shop.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #44. Day 4 of my Rhön bike tour, a climb up the Wasserkuppe, the highest “peak” in Hessen at 950 meters. I started with a 20 minute relaxing massage which was part of my two day winter package special at the Gersfelder Hof. Then it was a 500 meter climb from my hotel in Gersfeld. Once again a double dip, after reaching the summit I stopped at the Hotel/Restaurant/CaféPeterschens Mondfahrt for a Kaffee und Apfelkuchen.

I headed down the other side passing through Poppenhausen

and heading to Ried where I would get on the Hessen R1 Fulda Radwg and head back to Gersfeld, stopping at the Café am Marktplatz for a Kaffee und Buttercroissant, finishing with the pool and sauna at the hotel.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #46. A Saturday morning (3/2) recovery ride. I stopped at Grafs Café across from the U7 Heerstraße end-of-the-line stop for coffee and something that seemed to be an Italian style Pop-Tart. Got caught in the rain, but I was dressed for it.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #47, Halb GrünGürtel. Once again since it was Sunday I was having problems finding somewhere to stop for coffee, especially since half the ride was spent in the Stadtwald. Eventually I found a Erst zum Bäcker in Ried as I was heading home along the Nidda. Enjoyed my coffee and Apfrlplunder.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #48. RosenMontag Burgholzhausen-Peterweil loop dealing with gusting gale force winds. Fairly early in the ride I stopped at the Bäckerei Gangel in Kalbach for coffee and Florentina.

I road with my New Orleans riding partner out to the Taunus Therme where we enjoyed three hours the warm baths and the Frei Körper Kultur sauna while it rained outside. Why did I wait until the end of this tour to start doing that? No cameras allowed. Afterwards I stopped at the Artotheke near Bornheim for coffee and a pudding cream filled pastry.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #50. Ash Wednesday and still windy, but reasonable temperatures and no rain forecast (yeah right!). I decided to get my monthly century in and did a big loop south of Frankfurt. I stopped in Segingenstadt on the Main for my elevenses at the Bauder Café Marktplataz for Kaffee und Schokocroissant. For lunch I stopped at der Brotmacher in Groß Umstadt.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #51. Total lack of motivation today and I only went out for a quick loop through the parks and hadn’t intended to stop for coffee so I didn’t take a camera. As I was finishing the ride I passed the Schleemer Oase food truck (it never moves) at the corner of Raimundstaße and Marie-Bittorf-Anlage between Donbusch and Ginnheim and decided to stop for a cup of Joe.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #52. I went out a little earlier today hoping to get my ride in before the ride, well, I was half lucky. I stopped at Bäcerei Gerd Kroh on Oberdorfelden for a Kirschplunder. While they sold coffee in bags, they didn’t serve coffee. My coffee was at Berkersheimer Lädchen in Berkesheim.

#FS2019OOBcoffeeride #53. And they call the wind Mariah, it’s been blowing for a week here. We had the 10°C/50°F being touted for the DC Rock ‘n Roll Marathon, so I had to ride at least 26.2 miles. I looped through Höchst and up the Liederbach stopping in Unterliederbach at Die Bäckerei Wagner for my coffee and a Schuhsolhe mit Sahne.

Of course my camera batteries died when I turned it on at the summit, and I hadn’t brought spares. :rolleyes: Picked up new batteries at REWE in Schmitten and then stopped of coffee and croissant at Bio-Bäckerei Otto Ernst in Neu-Anspach.
