Biking’s more fun when you pepper it up with silly trix. I’ve come up with a list of Silly Rabbit Trix listed below in increasingly difficult order:

1. Ride Up Curb
2. Ride No Hands
3. Bunny Hop
4. Ride Down Stairs
5. Superman
6. Ride Up and Along Embankment
7. No Hands + 1 Foot
8. 10-second Trackstand
9. Hop Onto and Off a Bench
10. Ride onto, along, then down MBT walls
11. Ride (or Hop) Up Stairs
12. Ride completely up MBT Metro Stairway
13. Ride completely down MBT Metro Stairway
14. No Handed Hopping in a Circle
15. No Hands + No Feet

The harder the trick is, the more points you get for each. You can even get “Drop Bar Double” points for most of them if you do it on a bike with drop bars and tires <32mm because that makes things a lot harder IMO.

Demo:

https://vimeo.com/306827601

I’ve made a chart that lists descriptions, qualifiers, points, if it gets Drop Bar Double points, and possible real life uses:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18b_I67_tOgHcYLJImxpbuKF0ZykJGFeQewpjEhmekvA/edit?usp=sharing

As you complete a trick, I’ll add your username to the spreadsheet.

Some rules:

1. For the trick to count, you have to post a video (or a link to it) in this thread of you successfully doing the trick and riding at least 2 pedal strokes after completion. If you crash right after the trick, sorry, it don’t count.
2. The video has to remain up here until the end of Freezing Saddles 2019.
3. Only tricks done after the official start of Freezing Saddles and the end of the day on 3/19 count for this competition.
4. Only one of the attempts counts (the better one) for each trick. So if you do a bunny hop on a flat bar bike, then later on a drop bar bike, I’ll count the points for the drop bar bike since it has higher points.
5. Don’t sue me.
6. You have to wear a helmet for the trick to count.
7. For the timed trix, don’t slow down the video.

The guy and gal with the most points wins a pair of Trix rabbit socks (as seen here). If a tie, the person with the most style wins.

EDIT 1/3/19: I’ll be adding more tricks, and don’t mind suggestions. If I add more, I’ll be adding it to the spreadsheet, on the list above, and a video of me trying it myself.
EDIT 1/7/19: Added “No Handed Hopping” and “Hopping onto and off a bench”.
EDIT 2/25/19: Added “Riding along the MBT walls” and “Going Up or Down MBT stairs” (https://vimeo.com/319485697)

Yes Mr. Evil I have a question

Well I was going to ask which gets more points: crashing or not crashing – but you seemed to have answered that… incorrectly I might add. But your game.

What about adding or making up tricks. I’m thinking stream crossing with more than a foot of water. I wanna see Josh try it. I am sure there are some other good ones. Ought to have something that involves mud…. seems to me. And this is FS….. what about cycling down the frozen canal…..

Another good one might be some type of jump ramp….. and if <32s then done successfully without blowing out!

Wheelies Peter Sagan style?

And bunny hops….. how about points for highest thing hopped over? I mean Crandle can bunny hop a twig! How many points if you bunny hop an actual snake??

Even if you’re not a contender for this pointless prize, the spreadsheet with drevil’s “Real life uses” are worth checking out. I now know what I need to learn so I can survive dinosaurs coming back :)

I’m with her ^^. And it’s not just the spreadsheet – this whole prize is the bomb! And I’m one of the furthest from being a contender.

Vicegrip’s backwards bike, from last years Calvinball, parked out front of Bikenetic. How many points for a video ricing that thing. ??

Video’s not that great, let me know if I need a better angle. 2 points (will come back with smaller tires for the bonus, but not comfortable doing this fixed yet)

Better angle, please :)

Ha! Thanks :)

Everyone’s a contender! We can session (practice or attempt) silly trix on group rides. Ask me how, but I’ll be honest, I’m a terrible teacher because some of this stuff is so ingrained I forget details when trying to explain.

Let me check it out first, but if it’s open for anyone to try, I’ll probably do it. It’s gotta be silly though, so possibly three figure-8s within a certain amount of time, without dabbing or falling.

Let me think about giving folks points for trying and crashing. That said, I don’t want folks to get hurt so I don’t want to encourage crashing :)

Yes, I will be adding tricks to the spreadsheet. When I do, I’ll post a vid of me attempting it as well.

As for the other questions:

1. Deep stream crossing: Maybe.
2. Mud: probably not. I’d prefer people not to ride the muddy trails.
3. Cycling down the frozen canal: maybe. Huge chance of crashing without the proper equipment, and don’t want to be responsible for that :)
4. Jump ramp: probably not. Methinks high potential for hurt.
5. Peter Sagan wheelie? Please explain.
6. Highest thing hopped over? This is going to be hard to judge by video but it’s possible. And do you mean not touching it at all, or is it OK to draaaaag that chainring over?

I like your ideas Bob, et. al., but when I came up with this competition, I wanted it to be focused more on road/pavement things because this is mostly a road-centric community. It’s also why I am giving double points to most tricks with drop bars and skinny tires. Keep up the suggestions though, and I’ll figure out whether to include them in the official list.

You automatically win the entirety of FS, all the pointless prizes, all the cash, for all eternity.
