If anyone would like to score some #fs2018donut points this Saturday, January 13, Team 11 is inviting friends and infiltrators to go on a short donut ride.

Planned itinerary: meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Sugar Shack in Arlington, at 1014 S. Glebe Rd; ride to the Sugar Shack in Alexandria, at 804 N. Henry St.; finish at the Duck Donuts in Alexandria, at 3610-F King St. The planned route is about 9 miles, with a few gentle hills; social pace, no drop. It’ll be windy and in the low thirties, so keep that in mind.

I plan on attending and meeting up at Sugar Shack i Arlington

fsdonut #1 Sugar Shack near Penrose, Arlington, Va.

“Twix” flavored. So, like sweet. But nuts to cut the sweetness a little. But it was really the black coffee that cut the sweetness. But really there were so many wonderful people, who could pay that much attention to food and drink?

Three donut stops for me today:

    1. Sugar Shack in Arlington: caramel apple cake donut. A bit crumbly, but still delicious.

    2. Sugar Shack in Alexandria: old-fashioned cake donut. Slightly too sweet for my taste, but of course still delicious.

    3. Duck Donuts in Alexandria: vanilla yeasted donut with strawberry topping and chocolate sprinkles. Warm and melty and oh so good.

Yes, you need to look at all the threads, and Follow This One! The FS18 Doughneurers are an active group, with various team rides, infiltrators welcome, and several Official Donut Rides coming soon.
Yours truly will return to DC to lead TWO Epic Donut Rides in March, both the 17th and 18th of March, watch this space for details.
Individual doughnut quests are encouraged as well. Consularrider has an early lead, but is not insurmountable.
Also, there are periodic challenges, for which prizes will be awarded! The first one will be posted this week.

    Doughneurers!

A special pointless prize will be awarded to whomever posts the gaudiest doughnut here between today and Tuesday, January 23rd, end of the day. What qualifies? If it looks outrageous to you, if it can be described as gaudy, then post a picture here! Bonus points if you actually taste it and post a review.
Come on, get your doughnut game on! The weather is getting better and circles of deliciousness await you at the end of your bike ride!
    Who’s in? e

#fs2018donut ride to Tasty Donuts & Coffee after my German class, I enjoyed their Scwartzwälder Kirsch doughnut with my coffee hile waiting out a quick rain shower. Got blown sideways on my ride from the Consulate to the shop – 50 mph wind gusts! 😮

Two doughnut stops on today’s 71 mile ride. First was Café Bienenkorb in Bad Nauheim where both Cyndi and I had Schokobrot (chocolate croissants) with our coffee at mile 21. Then we stopped for lunch at about mile 56 at Bäckerei Moos in Nieder-Rosbach where we topped off our sandwiches with two Quarkbällchen each for dessert.
