LOL! Puttin’ yo man on blast
Level lift = English bunnyhop
Arced lift = American bunnyhopSo both are bunnyhops
Also, you can’t tell if it’s not American by a pic. He could be at the apex of the hop!

ParticipantI hadn’t planned on getting a #fs2018dirtybiker ride in today. My mapped route was all paved roads and trails and I was on my Pistola. Yeah, there were the almost one mile of crushed stone sections of the Nidda Route, but if that was all on a 31 mile ride, and I wasn’t stopping to take pictures …. But the best laid plans oft go astray, a couple wrong turns and I was on a half mile muddy gravel climb alongside the A5 autobahn between Ober-Eschbach and Ober-Erlenbach and then a road construction detour and another missed turn and there was a quarter mile of muddy gravel between Nieder-Wöllstadt and getting back on the Niddda Route and a forgotten half mile of crushed stone near Kleine Karben. Besides, I kept hitting 20 to 30 foot stretches of flooded trail that had a half to two inches deep mud over the pavement.

I was there… It was a level lift. He is really good at those! :p
English bunnies must be fun to watch hop around.

Participant#fs2018dirtybiker again through Niddapark and then down the gravel/crushed stone side of the Nidda River to Höchst. No trail photos today.

ParticipantDetoured over to Grüneburgpark for a crushed stone loop on the Pugsley after German class. Extremely strong and gusting winds made for an interesting ride, but at least it was a tailwind for the uphill portions.

ParticipantI did not plan for today’s ride to include mud or gravel. Cyndi was om my Rove gravel bike while I was on the Pistola. Once again a few wrong turns when we decided to abandon out century ride attempt and me trying to avoid riding back over the Rosbach cobblestones meant I ended up with between four and five miles of dirtybike ride.

ParticipantIt’s Sunday and I was out earning my dirtybiker point in the Taunus, gravel, mud and snow, about 9 of today’s 28 miles. I climbed the Altkönigstraße out of Oberursel to the Arbeiterweg over to Falkenstein. Another sloppy trail section parallel to the L3266 into Neuenhain and over to Limesstadt and finishing with the crushed stone side of the Nidda Route, through Niddapark, and along the A66 behind Markus Krankenhaus and Bundesbank to the Telekom Tower.

ParticipantI had been hoping for a little snow accumulation in town to do some dirtybiker parks loops, but no such luck. I did manage about 2 km (1.24 miles) in the usual places on a late afternoon/early evening ride.

ParticipantWent grocery shopping and ended up with about two and a half miles of gravel/crushed stone on my 51 mile ride. The unpaved was in the usual spots, Grüneburg, Solms, and Brentano parks, and a section on the Nidda Route right bank by the ehemaiages Höchster Weir, The a wrong turn at Kriftel put me on some unexpected muddy gravel. The dirtiest part of the ride was the kilometer past the Ikea at Wallau where the asphalt was coated with a thin layer of mud from farm vehicles. I had to wash off the bike when I got home and will need to hose down my panniers.

ParticipantI probably could have avoided the gravel and dirt on Wednesday’s ride, but what would be the fun in that? I ended up with about six miles of dirt and gravel out of 112 miles total. I started off with the Friedberger and Obermain Anlagers on the way across the river, and managed to stay on the pavement until I was in the Odenwald near Mühltal. I thought I was staying on the bike route as I climbed a hill (the road stayed in a stream cut). Then the trail turned to gravel and then to single track and I knew was going the wrong way s reversed back to the road, but earning two-thirds of a mile.

Then I turned onto the Bergstraße and when the road flattened out before Seeheim-Jugnheim I moved over to the gravel side road for about a half mile.

Further down the Bergstraße I took a little detour to see the Auerbach castle ruin. Back on my planned route I got another half mile of gravel

ParticipantContinuing the Wednesday century gravel and dirt report.
After Lorsch I again got off the highway and took the Hessen Radroute R9 into Riedrode, about three miles of gravel.

My original plan was to cross the Rhine and do a loop though Worms, but that would have added about five more miles. Instead I cut the corner before Rosengarten and added another half mile of gravel. Near Pfungstadt there was a dirt/gravel path that cut the corner and added a have mile to my total. The after Büttelborn the cyclepath diverged from the road and again turned to dirt/gravel and I ended up with another three-quarters of a mile.

Getting closer to home I rode the gravel forest road parallel to Frankfurter Straße before Neu-Isenberg for three-quarters of a mile and then again after (now Darmstädter Landstraßse, same road the B3) for two and a half miles. It was dark and that stretch of the road is very busy with little to no shoulder.

Back in Frankfurt I added some more dirt/gravel on the Friedberger and Eshenheimer Anlages.

ParticipantI went back to Grüneburgpark after German class to make sure I got at least a mile in on the crushed stone. It was wet and sloppy in the rain.

ParticipantA Friday Morning Coffee Club Ride (yes, there was more than on Cannon). Sections of crushed stone/gravel/grass in Rothschildpark and Rebstockpark before getting back on the gravel side of the Nidda Route near Solmspark. Also a stretch of single track along the A66 before riding the crushed stone in Niddapark.
