ParticipantLeaderboard will be at https://freezingsaddles.com/pointless/coffeeride. It’s not live yet but it will be by the time the competition gets going.

ParticipantBumping this for all those who might start Freezing Saddles tomorrow with a #FS2018coffeeride. Remember that the hashtag in your Strava ride title is case sensitive for the ride to count. And please include the name of the coffee establishment in your ride title. Remember, only one visit to any particular coffee shop (or chain location) counts. So you Coffee Clubbers and Coffee Catters can count one of your meet-ups, but just one. Ride on and caffeinate!

That is worth a tiebreaker point, if it comes to that.

ParticipantREMINDER … Everyone is encouraged (but not required) to post pics of their coffee rides on this thread.
January 2, 2018 at 2:26 pm #1080273chuxtr
ParticipantAnother suggestion (but not a requirement) …
If you have your Strava privacy set to “Request to Follow” it’s not possible for me (or anyone else) to see your coffee ride on Strava. This is being done under an honor system so I have to assume that if you’re hashtagging your ride that it’s a legit ride per all the rules. And it’s being counted on the #FS2018coffeeride leaderboard. But it would be kinda nice to know all the different coffee places that everyone is visiting. So, if you have time, please also post here about your ride (mostly where you went for coffee) and any pics. Thanx!

Participant#FS2018coffeeride #1 – Café Latte Macchiato, In der Römerstadt, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Stopped for a early afternoon cappuccino and their version of a butter croissant (more like a US crescent roll). The owner was from near Napoli, but had been in Germany for 15 years and was happy to practice his limited English with me.

ParticipantHump Day Coffee Club, Carl Schurz edition, at the Hinnebäcker location in Bad Vilbel right on the Nidda River. A Cappuccino and a Schokocroissant during a short hailstorm.

ParticipantThis morning I was back looping around Grüneburgpark and Niddapark trying to get my ride in before the forecast rain. Well the rain arrived a little early, but I stopped for a Kaffee Crème and Buttercroissant at the Bäckerei Raimund up the street from our apartment.

ParticipantOr maybe not. I rode 16.4 miles from Frankfurt to Oberursel and back stopping at the Café Castillo in Oberusel’s pedestrian zone for a cappuccino and croissant. However, neither Garmin Connect nor Strava will sync the ride and Strava also has issues with the file when I try to upload directly. I want to hold off doing a manual entry since that won’t count for BAFS. I need to go back out for at least a sleaze ride in case the gps file is truly corrupted.
They also roast their own coffee
9°C/48.5°F! I really feel for my fellow BAFSers in the DMV. :p

Duly noted. You’re on record in case of a tie.

Second ride of the day is done, but Tasty Donuts was still closed for the holidays so no doughnut and no coffee.

Participant#FS2018coffeeride #1 – A Baked Joint. This is easy because it’s Friday Coffee Club, but no one said it had to be hard.
