Hello Team 9!
Looks like I am late to the game on introductions. My name is Mike Pusey (insert laughter here). I also ride/race with John L and Ian B on Team Bikenetic. I live in Falls Church for now. I try to commute every day to work, only about 7 miles each way, but will try to add some more to the game for the team. I’m up for a ride just about anytime outside of regular 8-6 work hours during the week.
This is my first post in the forum and i’m completely new to Strava so i’ll try to make sure i track all my rides. Forgot one this morning already, SO SORRY. I’ll make sure to try to get them every time.
Im up for any rides of XC mountain, gravel, cross, and road.
Question: I dont really do the forum scene much, is there something I can use that is more mobile oriented to get updates from this feed? I use an Android phone but dont have a computer at home so I’d love any suggestions on how to keep in touch or a mobile app that lets me participate.
Look forward to seeing you on the trails.
Mike P
PS: Looking to attempt a Harpers Ferry ride out and back in a day if anyone is interested.
Looks like Rule 9 has a strong Falls church/vienna grouping so far.
Count me in for a Harpers out and back if you guys can put up with a Cat-6 Fred, 15 mph JRA commuter, 16 to 18 when thinking about it type. Road rider but I also have a under used CADD-X

I think the site plays well with Tapatalk 2, but I’m not 100% certain on that.

Participant@Vicegrip: can you make me an admin on our Strava team? I might try to tweak our name to play nice with the leaderboards. Or you can do it if you’re interested.

Participantchanged up the name a bit to put the FS2016 at the end. Does not look like there is a way to add admin to an existing velo club. Still missing two team members I think

I’m currently in a depressing situation with sore knees and awkward bike fit, so I’m afraid I won’t be putting in as many miles as I did last year.
You name your team after one of The Rules and then complain about sore knees? As a member of last year’s Rule 9 Velo team all I can say is Rule 5 buddy, Rule 5.

ParticipantRule 9 will obviously have no applicability this year. Give it a rest.

You think I’m happy about it? Seriously. Shove it.

Thanks for editing the name. I’ve sent emails to our two missing members.

If you are an admin you can add other admins by going to the Member’s list in the group and hovering over the member you want to make an admin with your cursor. A ‘make admin’ option will then appear that you can click on like so:

You not only can add an admin to the Strava club, you can make the new person the owner. I just did it for our Strava club. On the right, near the top, it says Members, has pictures of the first 4 or so, then says something like “8 others.” Click on the “8 others” part, which takes you to the member list. If you mouse over toward the right in a member’s row at the same level as the name, you get a popup that gives you the choice of “Make Admin” or “Remove.” Once someone has been made an Admin, s/he can then be made owner.
This isn’t my team, so I’ll back out now, but I figured I could help with tech stuff.

Sorry, everyone, for my angry post, and sorry in particular to @glennpstevens for being insulting to you. Obviously I’m pretty sensitive about this tendinitis in my knees. I love riding my bike: it has changed my life in incredible and inspiring ways in the last couple of years, and given me more joy than I can describe (of course, you all know what I’m talking about!). This injury has kept me from riding as much as I want, and in the way I want; I’ve been frustrated and depressed over it for several months now. So, I’m sorry for overreacting; the whole thing gets the better of me at times, which I regret. WSGFABR!

Injuries are the worst. I feel your pain. A few years ago I had patellar tendonitis that kept me from doing so many activities for months.
What sucks the most is that you think you’re healed and try and get back at it, then bam, it flairs up again. Rest up and get better soon!

Thanks. Done, David is now an admin.
Unlike most things in life forum posts come with an “Edit” button. I wish I had a “Take back what I said just now, last week or even 10 years ago” button
