ParticipantThe cemetery and pentagon stations are about the same distance away, if you know the right route from the pentagon (so it’s less clear cut for the short version than the cemetery route.
You want to leave the pentagon bus terminal and go up Connector Road to Boundary Channel Drive. Walk north on Boundary Channel until you reach a small parking lot on the right. Go through that lot and across a small wooden foot bridge. Follow the path to the right after crossing the bridge and you’ll reach the marina.
Google will tell you to walk around the other side of the pentagon on the 110 trail, but that adds a mile or so.

Here’s a Strava map of the route Shawn describes: https://www.strava.com/routes/6612488 This is also the best route for getting from a Metro station to the marina.

ParticipantShawn, Bobco85 – Thank you so much !! Both the written directions and the map are perfect. I could not figure out by looking at maps what to do once I exited the Pentagon Metro and wasn’t sure if Boundary Channel Drive is walkable. Thank you!

ParticipantExcept for the walkway from the Metro to the South parking lot, it’s all bikeable as well.
Actually the walkway is bikeable as well but the man with the large gun and dog suggested otherwise.September 24, 2016 at 9:36 pm #1056592KLizotte

Yes, there are well maintained sidewalks from the metro to the island. Watch out for the Canadian goose poop though! They like to hang out on the grassy strip along Boundary Channel drive.
