I know that you cannot connect to the Sligo from NW trail via Wheaton regional park even though it looks like one can on the map. At some point the NW trail becomes at best an MTB trail when heading north; even on an MTB I’d hesitate to try, esp if alone. I discovered this myself the hard way a few months ago.

Yeah, that part looked bad but I found a low volume street from aerial imagery that will connect the two trails together. Still struggling with getting north of Benning Road.
