Fri, July 12 flash flood warnings?

On the other side of town, I can report that the Anacostia Tributary trails are fine — water did not come up to near the trails that I could see.

I rode the W&OD->Custis, from Great Falls in Falls Church City to Stafford in Arlington around 0730 today. No significant problems — just a few puddles and muddy bits. Nothing the fenders couldn’t handle.

I rode the W&OD from East Falls Church to the Bluemont Trail Junction enroute to FCC II this morning. Nothing to write home about except the underpass of Wilson Blvd was flooded as it appears to do whenever we get any significant rain. Just cross Wilson at street level and all is good.

I probably should have asked earlier if I wanted it to really help my morning commute at all. I am happy to report that the flooded valley at mm 3.29-ish or so on the Custis from the last heavy rain has not reappeared.
