    Note that cycling is different from some other pro sports in that retired athletes can continue to practice the sport at a casual level. This is not the case with football and maybe even basketball. (How many former NFL players are playing backyard tackle football on a weekly basis or going through football drills on a daily basis? Probably zero. Football is not practical as a lifelong fitness activity. Cycling is.)
