Figured we need a place for questions like this:

Does anyone know what the “ELITE this post” button means (vs. like/dislike)? And does anyone know what’s going on if there’s no “like this post” option for someone to use? My friend’s display doesn’t show “like” as an option. She can only dislike or elite. We compared our settings, etc., and can’t figure it out! Yes, we checked the FAQ’s.

These are Bike Arlington questions, not Freezing Saddles questions. The reaction buttons are a little buggy because Bike Arlington hasn’t had the budget to upgrade the software that runs this forum. It’s unfortunate, but they have a lot of priorities and not enough funding to get to all of them.

Yes, we sent a note to Henry but I know he’s busy and underfunded. I hoped that one of the very active people on the forum might have come across the issues and knew a work around so Henry wouldn’t have to bother with it. And of course, there are a notable number of high-frequency users of the forum who are part of BAFS.

I did some digging with the search feature and it looks like this post was the origin (at least another post claimed it was).

Also, rcannon100 is a well-noted ELITE cyclist who I’m sure can correct me if I’m misinformed.

Hello, What label do I post in my Strava ride title to have it not count in the BAFS tally?

    NOBAFS? #NOBAFS ????

    Thanks, Dave

    3) Stationary trainer rides don’t count. Mark your rides as such or include #NOBAFS in the title to exclude them. Take your bike outside and ride it some distance across the surface of the earth in order to earn points. Manual entries will also not be accepted.

Don’t worry, his miles don’t actually count. Here’s a post that indicates they’re invalid:

The game is for DC based folks, that live here or lived here and want to keep in touch with our community.

Belgium is good place to be.
Or if you are like me I ride in Sunny Side Portugal usually in January. (50f is cold in Portugal).

    Ride on.

I think he’s making it a point to ride AROUND Brussels, adds a lot of miles (or Kms as they call them there) though [emoji6]

Help w/ ride data upload to #FS2023 leaderboard!!!
My Wahoo did an auto update to the software AFTER my ride and BEFORE it transferred from my bike unit to my iPhone App and while the summary stats were transferred to Strava, the GPS coordinates got lost, so my ride does not appear on the FS2023 leaderboard for today. Is there a hack to recup my 27 miles for today???

Is this a ride you’ve ever taken before today? If it is, you can export that other ride as GPX file. open it in Notepad, then do a search and replace to change, for example, 2021-09-24 to 2023-02-04. Then upload, and you have a ride for today.

Even it the other ride isn’t exactly the same, you can do that and then crop it if necessary at 27.7 miles. Unless the route is one that is used for a Pointless Prize, we don’t much care what route you take, just how many miles.

If this is a totally new route for you, there are apparently ways you can set up your route and create a ride from it, but they are beyond my capabilities.

You can create a route on mapmyride, export it, and import to Strava

Great suggestion, but while I have ridden this area before, it was the first time doing this particular route. Hadn’t thought about using a different route of the same distance, though. Looks like I have some experimentation ahead of me. Thanks!
