ParticipantAnd if you miss a day, you can NEVER BE GREEN AGAIN on the Ride Days chart.
Except for the beginning of the competition when hozn hasn’t reset the database.

ParticipantBut it wasn’t even that cold today. I don’t think that other peoples miles should count since it wasn’t freezing! Although mine should still count since I’m new at this.

ParticipantI think the start of freezing saddles should be delayed. Far too warm. Rule 9 was not in effect.

Don’t worry. Everyone who rode a lot today will be punish d for it on the Freeze Points chart.

Although if you DIDN’T ride today, the first day of the competition and it’s sunny and warm – I’m not sure this competition is really for you (unless you had some extenuating circumstances and no, a hangover doesn’t count).

Today is about as good as it gets except the occasional March days. Lots of huge rides today, but the competition is a marathon. It was interesting to see lots of the folks with the early Vegas odds decide not to do 200 mile rides today.

Sure, it is a marathon. But it’s the sort of marathon where people run 26.2 miles every day of the competition.

Speak for yourself. It didn’t get above freezing on my ride and there was actually a little (very little) snow. :p

Marathon indeed. My commute is what keeps me moving up the leaderboard, we’ll see who’s still crushing 200 mile weeks come early March. These fair weather, high mileage type riders come and go.

ParticipantOk, now TODAY feels like Freezing Saddles. Except maybe a little warm.

Yeah, but after fording several lakes and streams, I got chilled enough to make up for the excessive warmth.

ParticipantWoohoo! Team Assignments are DONE. Feel free to buy me ALL of the beer at the happy hour!
For those that are curious, I decided to go with more, but slightly smaller teams this year. Every team (including the non-team Slackers band of misfits) has the exact same number of players. My super secret, magical, team assigning formula indicates that this should be a fun and close competition.
In addition to everyone assigned a team (and those silly slackers), I have five alternates (these were people that signed up after the fact and actually entered in valid forum ID’s*) that are (almost confirmed) ready to step up in the event that someone needs to drop out or fails to “show up”.
*There were a few more that signed up after the fact but did NOT enter valid forum ID’s and I got tired of chasing people down. 😡

ParticipantWait, team assignments are done? Registration is closed? I missed it?! Was there a thread about this somewhere?

Given the number of people who signed up for the Strava club but failed to register, and the number who registered but gave forum names that do not exist on this forum, I’m thinking that reading comprehension is not necessarily universal among those trying to participate.
