11pm, we’ll gather for a group ride around the island one more time
12am, WE DID IT! Toasts, Reflections, Shout Outs***
BAFS TEAMS – Think about having something recognizable for your teammates to find you! Maybe a sign, or designated meeting place?
***
We still need someone to help coordinate the “BREAD” for “toast.” Are you planning to drive to HP for this? And/or Do you have a “bubbly” source? Please comment so we can get in touch.
***
We are looking at food options, including having a friend just working one of the grills in the park. BUT… Do you have a favorite food truck that might be interested in showing up? Please comment so we can get in touch.

[emoji254][emoji254][emoji254]ALSO… SHARE THE NEWS!! This is for BAFS, our friends and family, and anyone else who might want to having some fun rolling around the ol’ hamster wheel on the last Saturday night of winter! (ALSO, Like, *PRACTICALLY PEAK BLOOM**)[emoji254][emoji254][emoji254]

This sounds great! Where in Dupont is the ride leaving from at 8pm? Near the metro? What corner?

12am, WE DID IT! Toasts, Reflections, Shout OutsNote that a lap around Hains Point generally takes less than 15 minutes, even at a fairly relaxed speed. I usually start catching people as they come around at about 11:25 and we set out on the last lap by 11:40 or a bit before. Then we finish a few minutes before midnight, as it should be.

Thanks [emoji3]
So in the middle of the circle? I guess we should look for the crowd of cyclists in the circle. With music! Right?
I caught myself thinking I’d avoid the issue by meeting the group at Hains Point, and then I thought, no way – this will be my opportunity to finally meet my teammate Sam in the flesh. And you!
It’s cool you guys joined FS. Idk who else in FS is in bike party, but you & Sam have been great FS players.
I hope you guys decide to play again next year. You might wanna look for an icon add to your names to represent Bike Party on Strava/freezing Saddles. Some other groups do that. I came here from Babes on Bikes – and we use [emoji155]. Team Bikenetic uses [emoji3542]. (I guess not so many Bikenetics are playing this year. There are still a lot of Babes though.)

ParticipantJust a quick note that we are still looking for someone who is driving to HP to help transport some supplies…
Related notes:
1) Still looking for a TOAST connection… if someone has desire to arrange the “BREAD” that would be helpful. Please reach out to me in a dm. I’m happy to share costs / help arrange community collection.
2) I have one possible hook up, but if someone has one of those massive catering hot water dispensers, that would be helpful… I have huge costco boxes of hot chocolate and fancy english tea.
3) I do have a couple lines out to food trucks to park nearby for us… I’ll update when I have something firmed up.March 19, 2022 at 7:02 pm #1121306SamScruggs
ParticipantHello Freezing Saddles!
The DC Bike Party team is excited to host the Last Night Hains Point Party and cheer along the riders! (Check out our Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/301161501944862)
Our crew will be meeting at Dupont Circle around 7:30, and riding toward Hains right around 8:00. At Hains, we will have a table set up with hot beverages (tea and hot chocolate – even though it already feels like mid-Spring, it’s still Freezing Saddles), water, and music! We have toast prepared for the end of the competition at midnight, too!
Hope to see you there, it’s been great riding with all of you the past 78 days!
For food:
Unfortunately, food trucks are very prohibited at Hains Point. We checked with a couple and they don’t want to risk the high likelihood of fines, or their chance for a permit when this changes. So we can’t have food trucks. BUT… if you suspect you’ll get hungry, 1) BRING a evening picnic and/or 2) You can roll over to the Waterfront / Wharf are and find some food easily and/or 3) there are grills at HP, so you, know, there’s that option. -
