An informal tally shows the following teams had members rolling around HP tonight:
1, 3, 4, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20 Is there anyone we missed?A little snow was observed in headlamps. A shy moon peeked through cloud cover a couple times. Temps did not disappoint on this final eve of BAFS2016.
Thanks Bike Arlington for a great game! Elsewhere I saw someone observing the significant increase in winter biking around DC, and crediting BAFS!
Komorebi and I were there from team 11. Not sure how you missed getting me recorded– I was the one with the banana brownies. Nice to meet you! (and everyone else I met)

Those banana brownies were delish!

ParticipantSorry to have missed it, but I bonked early after having a crazy week at work; I could only muster a local sleaze ride to finish out BAFS2016.
Kudos to one and all for a gran finale.
Congrats to Bike Arlington for another successful year of promoting winter season cycling in the greater DC area.
Bravo to Jrenaut & SteveO for starting what has become a great tradition! I hope that no one contravened NPS rules by partaking in [insert prohibited substance here] that he carries along to this event.

Hey! Steve O was definitely instrumental in making this happen every year, but it was MY idea.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for coming out. Even though I got there late on tired legs, I had a great time, as usual. And thanks to the weather for giving us a fittingly unpleasant end to the competition. Getting FS credit for riding around in 60 degree sunshine was really starting to get old.

Team 12 was there too. (I was the one with the rainbow fingers who pulled up just before midnight.
)
Thanks for a wonderful time!! w&wMarch 20, 2016 at 5:01 pm #1049823Steve O
ParticipantAn enormous thanks is due to Billy H, who played this year’s Sarah Bee, with a trunk full of beverages and snacks and a welcoming smile every time around. Thanks a gazillion!!!

Just a clarification: BikeArlington does not organize Freezing Saddles. We are entirely a self organized group of volunteers. We use this forum hosted by BikeArlington and they regularly provide prizes, but everything about Freezing Saddles is accomplished by the players of the game.
So for everyone who has chipped in (and are still chipping in with upcoming HH & prizes, etc.), a big thank you and a rousing cheer.

ParticipantI don’t want to forget – a million kudos to our fabulous hosts Billy and Cam who withstood the cold with several cases of Gator Aid and sodas and other snacks in their car trunk the whole evening. THANK you Billy and Cam!

Was our pleasure – just trying to reciprocate to everyone who made FS such an enjoyable experience!

ParticipantI’m sorry that I couldn’t make it in the end! I had my gear waiting by the door, an extra batch of cookies baked, and understanding party guests–every intention of heading out! But when 10:30-11pm rolled around, I realized that despite my better efforts, our merriment left me in no condition to ride. Ah well.
I’ve enjoyed seeing the photos and the Strava uploads. Hopefully next year I can be at both the starting and closing events.

Komorebi and Amalitza, thanks for representing Team 11 last night. Sorry I could not make it.
