Nokesville? That’s a bit out of your normal riding area. How would one safely ride from Nokesville to HP?

March 19th is also my 36th birthday. I will be celebrating it at Hains Point. Bring cake and presents!

You are exactly 3 days older than me, Judd. :)

    Would Cannon Mountain suffice?

    Cannon Mountain is in Idaho.

And its not really a mountain.

    Its more like a hill.

Okay, its one of those earth barns where my uncles store potatos.

Yeah, maybe not. Theres a DC Randoneurs 200K out there on the 19th that I will probably do. Riding from there to HP probably not. I was joking. Sort of.

Joking, LIES~~~! I’m riding with you:)

Actually I would totally do this with you except that I’m organizing the ride so… I suppose I’ll still get back to hp for some shanagans

Do I have to stop riding by midnight Kyiv time, or EST which would be 7 am Kyiv time. Note I started the process at midnight EST at Hains Point, so in fairness to my team I should get to ride until you all stop riding at Hains Point (assuming I can stay up all night).

Actually you will have to stop riding by Midnight Eastern Daylight Time – an hour earlier. (Not sure if Kyiv follows DST).

Our DST starts Sunday, March 27, so yes we will have a six hour time difference for the FSLNHPP.

It’s only 10 days away. I wrote in my original post:

Last year’s raging success was due almost entirely to Sarah Bee’s broken foot. Unable to ride, she was the hostess with the mostess, offering a central gathering point, snacks, drinks and cheerleading.
This year, though, she’ll be riding.

If you have a friend, spouse, SO, sibling or know of someone who isn’t riding in FS who would like to come down and be the Sarah Bee of 2016, please post a note here. We’ll use this thread for organizing.

Feel free to help in some way to make this a fun and successful event. Some ideas include:

    • Recruit your friend/SO/relative as suggested above
    • Bring a folding table/tent, chairs, etc. to make the social center more “homey”
    • Bring some sort of music setup to add to the fun atmosphere
    • Bring snacks or beverages to share
    • Volunteer to be the “official” photographer
    • Bring noisemakers or funny hats for the toast
    • Other?

Freezing Saddles is a grass roots, shared experience, built on volunteers. There are 250 participants with maybe 20 of us pulling most of the weight. Spread the word to your teammates that they are encouraged to help with this (or the final HH, or anything else, for that matter). Captains, in particular, reach out to your teams to let them know about the FSLNHPP and also to encourage them to do more than just freeload. It’s part of the game.

I managed to stretch out my achilles tendon biking on the Blueridge parkway (sorry for dropping out, Team 2!), so I’m free to be at Hanes point from the afternoon into the evening. Boot and all. When should I get there? What can I bring? Who should I be looking out for? I’ll do whatever, just let me know!

Calling Sarah Bee. Please lend your advice and expertise to Cmcmackin. Hostess with boot is now a tradition!

Based on prior years can you provide an estimate of how many riders may be at the HP event, not sure what I will bring but just trying to figure out how much of anything to bring.

    Thanks
