So the whole Freezing Saddles 2015 competition was essentially named for consularrider’s imminent departure in February, no, March. I mean April. Um, no June. July?

So just like an office pool for your co-worker’s pregnancy, let’s have a Forum pool to predict consular’s “delivery date.”

Winner gets some yet-to-be-determined pointless prize.

    Rules:
    – Predict the date and time that consularrider’s plane actually takes off from IAD/BWI/DCA, whichever local airport he’s leaving from. We’ll use the actual departure time–determined after the fact from on-line flight tracking data–not the scheduled take-off time.

    – Your prediction must differ by at least an hour from any previous prediction
    – OR it may be placed exactly between two predictions that are currently less than two hours apart.
(This rule is to prevent people from placing their prediction 1 minute away from someone else’s)
    – Competition closes when consular purchases his ticket (which could be any minute, so get your ballot in soon). Chris – let us know when that happens. In the meanwhile, keep mum about your plans, so no one gets an unfair advantage (or use it to your advantage to punish your enemies and reward people willing to bribe you)

    Whoever is closest wins.

In full disclosure, he mentioned to me that his visa expires at the end of July and he is aiming for latter half of July. But we’ve heard all that sort of thing before, so take that under advisement.

    Go.

Hint: Don’t forget to factor in the departure times for the carrier holding the city-pairs contract for the DC to Kyiv route (there are multiple options even with that carrier).

If the Ukraine is no longer a country by the time he arrives does it still count????

As long as it is when he takes off. Once the plane is in the air, the contest ends.
The lack of a country to land in is his problem, not ours.

Plane? I thought he would ride there, or at least ride to a port and take a ship so he could ride around the decks.

Only 7 predictions so far (rcannon already lost, so I’m not counting his). Feel free to join in.

We can also guess when he will come home for a visit. Hopefully soon! :+)
