ParticipantGotta be seconds. I don’t think I could handle 100,000 hog heads in 40 days.

AHA — I shall divide by 3600 and convert to hours. Although the number of rods Rod has ridden would be interesting to know.

What is the scale on the “before sunrise” and “after sunset” charts? For example, Rod Smith and Chris Randall are in the 100,000 range for “after sunset” but 100,000 whats?
Yes, it’s in seconds. You can mouse over the blue bars and it shows you the actual time in a more readable fashion. (We could convert the axis numbers to hours or something too.)

Looking at the individual leaderboard bar chart, it’s in days/hours/minutes. So that should be a total number of minutes, I presume.

ParticipantNegative; the date/times are stored with seconds-level granularity, so that is what is returned by the duration db functions. I will convert this to hours, though, as I realize this is not very helpful unit.

Aww, c’mon, we *ALL* know the proper measurement for cycling is Furlongs per Fortnight. Anyone with white bar tape (which is SOOO Pro) can instantly convert from Miles Per Hour to Furlongs Per Fortnight. Though the World Tour pros are able to convert Kilometres Per Hour to Furlongs per Fortnight, that’s what makes them so much faster than us.

This is approximately .002 mpg, 10.5 feet per gallon, or 120,000 liters per 100 km.

Which is still better mileage than a Hummer, right?

Participanthey, we got a shout out from city paper!
* THE 15 PEOPLE WHO CHOOSE TO COMMUTE ON BIKES ARE EXPECTED TO SURVIVE THE SNOW, THOUGH THEIR CLOTHES AND BIKES WILL BE COVERED IN THE TONS OF SALT THAT CITY OFFICIALS PREEMPTIVELY PILE ON THE STREET. THESE BIKERS WILL RECEIVE MEDIA COVERAGE FOR HEROICALLY DECIDING TO BIKE IN THE INCONVENIENT CONDITIONS.

ParticipantMan. 51 straight days, 502 miles. By comparison, on this date in 2013 I had 289 miles. My quads literally fell off on the way up 15th Street. Yes, literally.
If I decide to go in to work tomorrow, I think I will do only the ride in (downhill) at about 6mph on CaBi then Metro home.
On the bright side, I’m having a great time and really enjoying the competition, even if we’re not quite up there with the top teams. We do own Bacon (Hains) Point.
