    I’m selling a 54cm Foundry Riveter frame and a generic full-carbon fork. http://foundrycycles.com/bikes/riveter

How I ended up with this definitely-too-small-for-me frame is a bit of a long story, but the short version is: Here’s your a chance to build up a sweet full-carbon road disc race machine!

The frame is brand new / unused. It really is a beautiful frame; I wish it fit me. It is Di2 ready, internal cable routing, etc.

The fork is a used generic full carbon, tapered (1 1/8″ – 1 1/2″), QR disc-brake fork. I’ve ridden with this fork on my road bike for the past year (so about 2k miles on that bike) and it has been fantastic. Super stiff. But I have finally switched to 15mm TA, which was always my intent, so I’m offering this one with the frame. There is a bit of surface cable rub, but otherwise great shape.

This is a mostly raw/unpainted carbon frame + fork, so you will see things that look like blemishes; those are just features of the carbon.

Forum price: $600 for the frame + fork or $500 for the frame only (no fork).

    Edit: A couple updates:
    – Max tire size is 25c on wide rims. (Maybe 28c on narrow rims, but they might rub the fork at least.)
    – There are no fender mounts here.
    – Min rotor size for frame/fork is 140mm. The frame can reportedly accommodate a 160mm rotor. (Fork can too, of course, with adapter.) I have run my road disc w/ 160/140 (f/r) rotors and that works great, but I know Shimano suggest 140/140 for their setup on the road. And you might prefer 160/160 to have extra stopping power from the rear brake.

I know! I started pricing out shortening surgery, but I think the smart money is on selling the frame instead. The weight loss aspect of the surgery is attractive, though. What to do!!

    Wish I were single.

I mean, umm, this is tempting.

I will even thrown in a free stem 90-130mm and bars (but I only have 44cm bars)!

*And* I will even build you wheels for this thing at cost. E.g. I can spec/build a decent set of carbon clinchers for around $600-800, depending. And for less $$ there are some great road disc alloy rims too (Stans 340/400 or Grail, Velocity Aileron, Flo30, the new HED C2, the new Pacenti SL25).

    Hey, I ride a 54.

Very interesting… hozn, what size tire can the frame take? Would one be able to mount a largish tire (let’s say a 32 mm) with fenders? Looking for a light-ish do-it-all frame. Don’t know much about Foundry beyond what seem to be mainly infomercials on the interwebz.

No, no, no! :) This is Foundry’s “road race” frame, and it is outfitted accordingly. Max tire size is probably 25c — I had a tire measuring 27mm (a 25c tire on a wide rim) in the fork and it was snug; I don’t think a 28c would have fit – on that rim, anyway. So maybe 28c tires if you have narrow rims. Maybe.

In a similar spirit, there are no fender mounts on this frame.

Foundry makes a utility ‘cross bike/frame, the Auger (http://foundrycycles.com/bikes/auger), that sounds more like what you’d be looking for if you want to run 32c tires and fenders.

Do they not know that 28s are the new 25s? For shame.

To be fair, the limiter is probably the fork, not frame. The frame probably fits a 28c tire on wide rim, since they call that out in their marketing.

Yeah, I was running 25mm tires all summer on my road bike in rides, races etc. Then I switched to 23mm. You know what’s nice? 23mm tires. I may use 25mm tires again, but if I want plush I have my commuter with 28c tires.

    This is confusing me!

Some 23mms are nicer than others, but yeah I see no reason not to use 25-28mm tires as a minimum tire size. My FG has a 28mm on the back now and that’ll probably never change.

Yeah, that was confusing. I guess I am saying that on a racy bike I like the extra road feel that 23mm tires provide. I also like that the tire sidewalls match the rim width (24.5mm). And the latex tubes make these roll fast — at least in my mind.

Bah… Just put in 24″ wheels and none of this will be an issue.
