    These rides are still going on. Just a posting warning people about the insane amount of poison ivy out there this year. Since I started riding there in 2011, it has never been this bad. Photo with my hand is a climber right by then entrance from Texas/Ridge on the trail towards Mass.

    The second location is something weird. An ivy climber fell off a tree and is blocking the trail right over one of the new annoying bollards. It is a very mature and lush example, full of green berries, shiny leaves and woody stems. Just stay the f away. This is near the entrance off Fort Davis Dr near Mass.

    I’m starting to itch just looking at these pictures. I’ve noticed a lot of poison ivy trail running too. Ugh.

    Whoa. Coming from MA I’m only used to looking for the small PI that grows up as little plants along the ground. I never would have known that was PI. Yikes! I’d report it to the Park Service or whoever is responsible for the park.

    Anyone know if there are any plans to pave the roads through there. Kinda like biking through a war zone.

    The roads? No idea but assume not. The NPS allocates NO money for Fort Dupont, they are the same line item as all the mall things. They use almost all the funds. Plus the bad pavement cuts down on the number of cars cutting through the park.
