So she’ll be back on the road this year? It’s OK, she’s a nice lady who never did anything bad before.

Listened to that podcast this weekend. A bit sobering.

Aside from the jail time, did they also confiscate her driving license for a period of time? I mean 1-2 years without a license while trying to navigate life might be a good way to teach someone how important the PRIVILEGE of driving really is. She may even take up cycling and learn to enjoy it.

1 to 2 years my ass–there’s no reason she ever needs to drive again

I thought it was automatic that your license would be suspended if you failed a breathalizer test, even before any adjudication — ?

So that may have happened already. Not sure how long it lasts, though.

Random googling suggests that in VA your license is immediately confiscated if you’re charged with DWI, but for first time offenders the longest possible suspension is one year. Misdemeanor hit and run appears to carry an even shorter suspension period (6 months)

Perhaps she weighs 90 or 100 pounds or so.
