ParticipantI love that BAFS both begins and ends with ill-advised late night laps at Hains Point.

i think Jon meant to describe them as “totally freakin awesome because Hains Point is the bestest place to bike in the world” laps, but his darn phone erroneously auto-corrected to ill-advised.

It’s not illegal to be there. But whether it’s ill advised to be in Freezing Saddles at all may be open to debate.

ParticipantSometimes the gates are closed but some (this is not an admission) have been known to go around them.

ParticipantI will not be able to roll out with you guys tonight, but will make an appearance for at least one HP lap after church (appx. 11:30) Because the usual Jan 1 Holy Day falls on a Monday they abrogated the obligation this year, but having a commitment gets me out and into the cold.

ParticipantJust curious if anyone is stupid enough…I mean super-excited enough to ride some laps at midnight. I just did my quick test ride in civvies to see how bad it is. Aside from the brain freeze headache from the wind I think it’ll be OK. Hope to see some brave souls.

ParticipantSince it looks like I’m alone here, I think I’ll drive to HP and do my lap rather than ride over.

ParticipantCan’t even get Judd to come out? I guess that means I must be batshit crazy. So I guess I’ll ride alone but closer to home. [emoji22]

ParticipantStill fighting a cold (plus being in Germany) means I did’t roll out for #BAFS #1 until noon CET. A balmy 47°f,

ParticipantBest Buns is open today. Would anyone like to join me there around 9:30ish? (I’m putting this under the First Tracks thread, for those of us who haven’t made it out already.) Happy New Year, everyone!
