I just saw this on the news, and had to post it. They said it was on beach drive. I like the dedication, but everyone be careful out there today.

The latter. There are still jurisdictions in the area with combined sewer systems, so you do NOT want to get in the water when there’s a major event like this. If you do, shower well. If you have any cuts, check with your doctor about antibiotics

it’s a little hard to tell, but it looks like he’s got his glasses on OVER the helmet straps, so I’d say gotta be ELITE.

ParticipantHis name is Barry Martin and his interview with Jackie Benson is on NBC4’s web site: http://www.nbcwashington.com/
Basically he said his alternative was to fight rush-hour traffic and driving rain on Connecticut Ave, and he thought it was safer to just wade through the water on Beach Drive to get home.

If you want to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he’s still dialing in the fit. Best to measure twice and cut once than to cut once then have to order a new fork.

Wearing glasses on a cloudy day, let alone in heavy rain, is ELITE. If they are prescription glasses, then having special prescription bike glasses is also ELITE.

ParticipantThis a post-modern interpretation of ELITE – it has come full-circle, passed “Go,” and collected its bucket of crazy. Respect for the glasses, minus a billion points for the fan-pahk.

It looks like the waist strap for the backpack
(Seriously, waiting 30 seconds between posts wouldn’t be enough?)

http://www.gizmag.com/baycycle-water-bike/29322/Ha, you have just sent me on a 20 minute wild good chase across the internet since I cannot read Italian. The Chinese have ripped off the idea and sell it (http://inflatable_boat.china-direct-buy.com/v/4/product_detail/6794074/Inflatable_boat-shuttle_bike_kit.html), but their alleged website doesn’t work so I don’t have the faith in it. Damn. I was thinking, I could hop in up by Georgetown and take the current all the way down to Belle View.
