ParticipantI participated in both of these classes last summer and found them helpful. The instructors were approachable and straightforward in how they covered the class topics. The hands-on bike portion was the best part. I learned what my skill level was (nonexistent) and I learned what I needed to practice to be safe (stopping, starting, turning, and oh god – signaling). I don’t remember the cost, but it was minimal compared to what I got out of the classes. 😎

ParticipantI took both classes last summer and have been recommending them ever since. In fact, one of my friends wants to go this year and I’m planning to go with her as a refresher. Unfortunately, getting to Arlington by 6 pm on a work day, especially with a bike, is impossible.

ParticipantAdditional bicycling classes in Arlington, Fairfax, and Montgomery Counties are listed below. Smart Cycling–Traffic Skills 101 covers all the material in WABA’s three Confident City Cycling series (CCC1, CCC2, plus CCC3) with less delay and hassle and with a lower ratio of students to instructor. Although the CCC classes have lower fees, they are no longer free and they no longer offer classroom instruction. I agree with the poster, that the on-bike instruction is the most valuable.
