Now’s the time to doublecheck and clear your calendar for this year’s first Bicycle Fan Club Ride. Nationals v. Phillies.
Sunday, May 6
The pre-game ride is 20 miles with one history stop (water and restrooms available). The ride will be at a moderate, social pace, with 60% on streets and 40% on trails. The group will stick together.
I have reserved 16 tickets, 1 for me and 15 for youze guys.
The plan:
9:15ish – Pre-ride coffee at Bayou Bakery in Courthouse (optional)
10:00 – Ride briefing
10:10 – Rollout
11:15-11:30 – Special DC baseball history landmark stop with captivating narrative by Steve O
12:30-1:00 – Arrive at ballpark. If early, you may opt to eat something at a nearby eatery. Or you may go in and buy concessions inside. We will park at the Bike Valet.
1:35 – First pitch! Like last year, there will be a contest; details to follow.
Post-game – Caravans to your next big thing
Options:
A) Ride + Game. Reserve your ticket by forwarding $20 to me, either through PayPal (my email address or paypal.me/steveoffutt) or Venmo (Steve_Offutt)
Just the ride. Anyone is welcome to join for the ride. No charge; just show up.
C) Just the game. If you want to come to the game but not join the ride, you may, provided there are tickets left. Watch this thread.
If you live over there somewhere and don’t want to come all the way to Arlington, you may catch the ride along the way. We will pass through downtown DC, Brookland, Bladensburg and ride the Anacostia Trail.
