You should have just done a few loops and then blamed traffic when you were late to work.

Here at one large federal agency, where I’m working in the morning before going to work at the bar (I was serious about that), I just had to scoot back my chair and wave my arms to get the motion-activated lights to come back on.
My office’s server has slowed/shut down to the point of uselessness because we have so many people teleworking. No email = no work! I’m going to fight the metro madness home….

ParticipantWe’re at Meridian Pint. This is the best work day ever.

ParticipantYeah, can’t telework, but apparently 99.9999% of my office can. Cavernous ghost town today. Got chased by a motorcycle cop riding in this morning, he wasn’t coming after me for any reason, just some casual drag racing to prove manliness or something. Not looking forward to dip, ducking, dodging, and diving on the way home.

Why not just turn south on Ohio to get to the Jefferson to get to the Bridge?

Ohio is red on the map, but so is Independence and according to Strava, he biked along there. It’s ridiculous that they can’t actually tell us what’s closed to us.

They were closed to cars, but if you asked nicely, the didn’t seem to mind me riding on them.

ParticipantEverything you saw on my track was open except for the bridge. I didn’t ride on Ohio because I’d have to salmon or sidewalk the last few hundred feet to the bridge connector, and I hate both of those things.

Nice stem cap! 😎
My org (a non-profit near the Mall) simply decided to shut down for the day yesterday. We don’t have telecommuting as an option. Management suggested salaried employees take something home that we could work on during the day and not treat it as a day off. I’m guessing few of us actually did anything yesterday. If I were single, I would have taken the day to go for a VERY long bike ride. I decided instead to enjoy the day at home with my wife and son and managed to watch the last half of yesterday’s Vuelta stage on an online feed during my kid’s morning nap.
