We should get a bike-friendly person on the Transportation & Logistics committee for this event. I’ll ask FABB if they have any contacts with the committee already.
I’m envisioning encouraging volunteers, participants and spectators to bike to the events.

They put out a new call for volunteers for the Games:

The 2015 World Police & Fire Games will take place from June 26-July 5, 2015 and feature 12,000 public safety athletes from 70 countries taking part in 61 sports in 53 area venues. And it will take over 4,000 volunteers backing them up to make it all happen.

Be a part of this exciting international event and meet people from around the world while acting as an ambassador for Fairfax County and the National Capital Region.

Awful. It’s not hard to guess where this happened. There’s a super fast downhill section near the end of the loop. A blown tire in just about the worst possible place. Incredibly bad fortune.
