Hi all, my name is ed, and I am new to your forum.

I have organized a cross continental bike ride, departing Washington DC, area on 20 June traveling to San Francisco.

We will be following the Trans American Bicycle Trail switching to the Western Express.

We anticpate a midway layover on or about the 4th of July in kansas City where a media event is tentatively planned. We only have six riders right now, with two threatening to fall out because of family issues.

This is largely self supported, but I have arranged for overnight accomodation every few days along the route.

The total distance is about 3,217 miles and would make a terrific, green summer vacation.
