I ended up testing riding a few. For the lower price point, you can’t really get some nice carbon fiber bike, but some great aluminum frames. I liked the Fuji Roubaix, but ended up liking the Ridley Fenix 7005 w/the 105s. I felt more comfortable on it and so ended up with it. Plus was double points at Performance so I should be able to get a nice set of pedals and new shoes for it, plus some other minor gizmo gadgets. Of course finally getting myself to N as 2 means I really need 3 (N+1).

Saw it on sale at Performance at about 33% off. And noticed it is running shimano 105s. I’m thinking about getting it, but curious of collective experiences/wisdom. Of course I’ll give it a test ride and whatnot. It is aluminum, but fairly light one at that. Anyway, thoughts appreciated.

I purchased one for my wife. Hers is the 1.3 version which I think has the same frame but something lesser in the drive train or wheels. It works and rides well. I feel it is a good value and a fully usable as is* bike. I got it as close to fitting me as the frame would allow and took it for some rides to get a feel of it and I like the ride.

    * Sometimes less expensive things are a waste as you then ether get what you should have or dump money into what you have making it into what you should have bought in the first place.

An excellent solution to the n+1/s-1 conundrum!

Convert irritation into assimilation S-1 becomes SO+1 and you are back to thinking about the next bike.
