    Hi all,
After reading the latest Strava blog post on “Everesting” (“pick your hill and ride it repeatedly until you’ve ascended the equivalent height – 8,848m – of Everest from sea level.”) I started thinking what that might look like around here. Not sure I’m even up for a challenge this ridiculous but thought it’d be fun to see what the Bike Arlington group would have to say. As the author points out, you’d have to find a stretch of road that strikes a balance between gradient and distance. What say you? Does anyone in the group have an “Everest” under their belts already?!

It does mean a 100kph limit actually, pretty crazy. Not sure why it’s so high there. Where did you see the picture of the sign?

Probably a mile or so in. Going out of town the speed limit increases to 60, then 70, then 100. While riding on a major country road, seeing the speed limit 55 mph sign usually gives me the chills because you know cars are going 60+. But at least those roads are usually not very curvy and have a small shoulder unlike this one. Sheesh.

From the streetview, this climb looks like a ginormous version of Sugarloaf, but maybe it’s more of a busy highway, than off-the-beaten-track mountain park?

The vegetation is all weird too! :D

And they did it in the middle of winter, to boot!
