If you missed my earlier post about these hats, I’ll give a quick plug for them here. I couldn’t make it to the previous event, so I ordered one off the esty web site. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. It is the best winter hat I’ve ever used. It has the best balance between warmth and wicking and fits perfectly under a helmet with virtually no added bulk. Looks great too!

Hi again. I don’t know if you’re already booked for holiday markets, but if you’re looking for additional venues to show off your bike hats, I noticed that Greenbelt is planning a holiday market on December 18th: http://greenbelt.patch.com/articles/farmers-market-will-offer-its-first-holiday-market

I think I’m gonna be at the Lake Fairfax Cyclocross race on December 4th. :D I’ll see you there!

Today’s excursion to get some wool bike hats. (Note, my homemade videos are colorful, but not very slickly edited, and, a bit dull in spots. The best parts are the pitstop for a giant chocolate chip cookie and apple, and meeting Ann the hat lady at the market!)

What a pretty trail! What was up with the truck on it though? Watching the cookie disappear was funny. Did you buy a hat? What kind of camera do you use?

Just a maintenance truck I think. That’s the NE Branch trail, part of the Anacostia Tributary trail system (which also includes the NW Branch trail, Paint Branch trail, and Indian Creek trail), and part of our commuting route to DC. For its part, the NE Branch extends from Lake Artemesia in the north to a dead end at the DC line in the south. In a couple years, it will extend through DC all the way to the SW waterfront. I got several hats, but they didn’t last until Christmas for presents — everybody started claiming them already. My son picked one and wore it around the house all day.

Hey Everyone: Check out the first message for additional dates and times where I’ll have EncoreHats for sale.
Looking for hats for an entire team, in coordinating colors? Send me a message and we can talk about possibilities.

Greenbelt: Loved the video and the munching cookie! My husband is eager to try that part of your route on the new stretch of the trail in the Bladensburg Waterfront Park, past the caboose which totally avoids going on 450. We were there for the ribbon cutting ceremony a couple of weeks ago, but he didn’t realize that it made a better link to get to Cheverly. Oz says your video is great, but while you’re whizzing along, it all looks flat, and Cheverly isn’t, for sure!!!

Life has a strange way of changing our plans for us…… On Monday afternoon, I fell down and broke my leg. I’ve had some great surgery and am out of the hospital, but will not be able to attend the MABRA Capital Classic myself on Sunday to meet all of you. Husband Oz and racer son Tony will be there manning the EncoreHat booth from 9 to 2-ish. Please check out all the great hats I made before I took a dive! Cheers,
    Ann

OUCH! Get well soon, Ann. We will see you when you’re up and around. I’ll do my part by buying some more hats.

Hi Ann! It was great to meet your husband today. Your selection of hats was amazing. I’m not so bright. I didn’t make the connection that Tony was your son until I walked up to the table and he was there. Very cool indeed.

Thank you very much! I got some Christmas shopping.

Thanks to Pete and all who stopped by the EncoreHat booth at the MABRA Capital Cross Classic today. I’m proud of my son Tony who took first place in his race – I wish I had been there to see him and all you guys going through the mud. Who won the EncoreHat primes?

I’m going to have to limit my outings somewhat till my leg mends, but if there are any indoor events that you racer and commuter folks are having in December or January and would like to have me set up a table for hat sales, please let me know.

Like Pete and Greenbelt can tell you, these hats make a wonderful gift to youself or your other biking friends.
    Cheers to all,
    Ann
