I feel like sponsoring a pointless prize, and I enjoy climbing so here goes. Most elevation per mile on average for the entire competition. It is kind of the anti-HP laps prize.

    Rules:

You must have a minimum of 29,029 ft of climbing total (height of Mt. Everest).

Self report on this thread if you think you have a shot. Pretty simple math, divide your total elevation by total miles.

Winner gets a curated 6-pack from breweries located in mountainous regions of the country. (Probably a decorated paper plate as well).

Edit/New rule: You MUST attend closing HH to claim your prize! I’m not carrying that extra weight for 40+ miles that day just to carry it home too! No-show winner means next highest gets the prize.

Bonus: If a team manages to average over 50ft/mile for the whole competition I will buy members of that team a beer at the closing Happy Hour.

Your pointless prize is turning my friends into sociopaths.

I figured you would be a front-runner, looks like you’ve got some competition! Bob C from Team 18 is sitting at 75 ft/mi, Cynthia P from Team 22 at 60 ft/mi, and Rachel C from Team 17 @ 59 ft/mi just from my quick look at the “Distance Elevation Speed” chart.

Ugh! Bob C (who I think happens to be one of those randonuttes) looks like a formidable opponent. If I had my old Garmin, I’d have a much better chance at beating him. But my stupid new Garmin cheats me out of about 10% per ride according to Ride with GPS. However, I will give it my best shot.

Any chance of getting a few bonus points for finishing in the top 3 of miles while doing this? It’s one thing to do a lot of climbing per mile, but it’s another to do it all the time. Haha, I figure it can’t hurt asking. Either way, I’m up to the challenge.

musclys has the ELEMNT and he routinely has more elevation than I do when we ride together. So when it’s time for a new computer Wahoo gets my money. :p

Yeah you have a pretty serious combo of miles+elevation+avg speed.

Oh no. rannon100 is Bob C. I think I may have slightly insulted him in some other previous post (although you really had be paying attention to catch the insult). I certainly hope this won’t make him do even more hilly rides!!

You can always increase your average by doing a ride like this one – 136/mile

Maybe it’s wahoo, or maybe it’s all the secret hills I ride on my way home.

I was channeling Judd last night and did laps at HP. Not helping myself much for this pointless prize.

Woo hoo! I’ve got almost one foot per mile more than reji does! Let the bragging rights commence!

I am so disliking this post.

I’m obviously excluded from winning my own prize, but even if I was in the running I doubt I would win. Also as of today if Team 18 keeps it up I will have a large bar tab at the closing HH! They are averaging 54.3 ft/mi!

Team 18 will need more hay in order to keep this up!

I think this should be done Euro-pro style. Instead of feet per mile. Meters per kilometer.

This is America and we will not use the superior metric system. Plus if I stick to feet per mile the numbers look bigger.
