The concert is free so expect very large crowds on the National Mall/Washington Monument Grounds that day. Among the performers are No Doubt, Usher, Fall Out Boy, Mary J. Blige, Train and My Morning Jacket. (I’m not familiar with all of those acts either.) will.i.am and Soledad O’Brien will be the hosts. There could be 100,000 people or more, which will make cycling almost impossible on that part of the Mall.

On the same day, the Smithsonian museums are hosting the 1st National Math Festival. While the crowds won’t be as large as those at the concert, it might be more people than usual. So much of the Mall will be hectic that day.

Just an FYI in case anyone was planning to ride along or across the National Mall that Saturday. Or if anyone is interested in either of those events.
