The County will study traffic patterns over the next months, to determine if the cycletracks and new lane configuration help or worsen multimodal traffic flow and safety.
I can say that it is much less intimidating to walk across Eads now, with two fewer car lanes to cross. I’ve never seen too much traffic on that part of Eads, so I think that one car lane in each direction (plus the two-way center turn lane) should prove to be adequate for car traffic volume. It’s certainly an improvement for pedestrians and cyclists. With hotels and the Metro station nearby, there are a lot of pedestrians along that part of Eads St.
