ParticipantAs President of RUB (Remove Useless Bollards), I strongly oppose the use of bollards to deal with this problem before first trying signage, paint, design changes and other non-dangerous solutions.

What’s your stance on anti-tank cannons?

Do we have a problem with tanks on the trails now, too?

ParticipantI am told that there is still a Cannon farm on the Island of Man. Have not visited. Have visited the Cannon farm in Salt Lake and Idaho where there are so many Cannons you hit one if you throw a potato. I think the story goes that my great grandmother died and my great grandfather was distraught – so half the family was raised by one aunt and the other by another aunt. One half stayed mormon and in Salt Lake and the other half left. My grandfather found his way to West Point and ended up in the jungle of Burma with Gen. Vinegar Joe Stillwell.
Of course I am also Norwegian (Olstead – Long Island rum runners) and Austrian (Triska). I am sure it must be the Norwegian slowing me down.
And yes there are certain other cyclist Cannons in our little community that probably have roots back to the great George Q Cannon as well.

They grow cannons on a farm? Might be a strategy to reduce the defense procurement costs!

Participantonce upon a time, the rocks in pic 3 provided a barrier to wider than 2 wheeled vehicles, and it looks like they moved them during the repaving.
Or maybe I’m thinking of the rocks on the other side going towards the pool.

Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the current view (left) and the older Google Maps Street View (right):

It looks like they were trying to make it easier for the maintenance vehicles to enter the trail, but in doing so, they also made it easier for ANY vehicle to enter the trail!
I have not heard back yet from the e-mail I sent, but I will let everyone know of any updates, i.e., any plans for construction of future armaments.
