Would be helpful if there was a list of folks who had successfully registered – might cut down on questions.

Unfortunately, compiling that list would be a royal pain. I’d have to go through each of the submissions, compare it to the list of confirmed e-mail addresses, and search to find out whether they had really made a post on this forum. And then the list would have to be updated daily for new registrations, and for people whose e-mail addresses have now been confirmed or who have now posted. Doing all this once at the end of registration is already a pain; doing it daily would geometrically increase the effort involved.

If you are interested in doing those daily checks, I can get you access to the submissions. But otherwise, I’ll need to post reminders here, and put the burden on registrants to make sure they do it right, or contact me if they aren’t sure.

I had my forum username changed after I registered, but everything in my profile else should be preserved, include all my previous postings. Is that going to be an issue?

Does Freezing Saddles typically fill up well before the deadline? I enrolled a few days ago, hopefully it all went through fine. I got the confirmation email and clicked on it.

It filled up a bit before the deadline last year. However, once it fills up, we change the registration form to say so. You’re fine.

Can you please e-mail me with your old and new usernames, so I can update the list?

Sure, my old username was f148vr, the new one is ImaCynic.

    Thanks!

I *think* I got registered, but it still says “Processing.”

Well, maybe not. I never get a result page that looks like the form submit works. I’m either registered multiple times or not at all.

The registration form does not work well.

You have not registered at all. Can you tell me what you see? I’m not sure what’s going on. We’ve had 134 people register so far. And I just tried myself, and the form went through without issue. So it doesn’t seem to be a systemic issue, but I want to make sure you are taken care of.

If you get really desperate, you can put in all your answers, save it as a PDF, and e-mail it to me. But I’d rather avoid that, because then if you accidentally skip a question, the form won’t tell you so.

do you need those of us who intend to be slack…er…friends of FS to do anything to let you know we signed up for the strava page, but did not register?

Nope. Just make sure you’ve authorized Freezing Saddles to read your miles.

We’re officially halfway to our 250 cap as of today. However, some of those registrations are going to get tossed absent further action. So, for everyone affected, in order to participate, you’ll need to contact me at freezingsaddles@freezingsaddles.x10host.com if any of a variety of things are true:

    1. You need to have filled out the registration form. Currently, 224 people have joined the Freezing Saddles 2019 Strava club, but only 127 have registered. Some of the difference is no doubt accounted for by people who want to be Friends of Freezing Saddles. But I suspect at least some people thought that just signing up for the Strava club would sign them up for Freezing Saddles, and that is not the case.
    2. After registering, you should have received an e-mail with a link to confirm your e-mail status. If you did not receive that e-mail, you might look in your spam, promotions, or social folder. If it isn’t there, or if you already threw it out without clicking, please contact me.
    3. You need to have registered for this forum. When you sign up, you should receive an e-mail requiring you to click on a link to finish the registration process. If you did not receive that e-mail, you might look in your spam, promotions, or social folder. If it isn’t there, or if you already threw it out without clicking, please contact me.
    4. You need to have posted at least once in this forum. If you have not posted, please do so now. If you indicated on your registration form that you had 0 posts, but have now posted, please contact me to let me know that you posted.

We cannot chase down each person who misses part of the registration process, so please contact me now if any of the above applies to you.

Looking forward to freezing on saddle in 2019
