I tell people “Passing on your left… Thank you” when walking all the time. I’ve been known to ask people to hold their line more than once.

I try to be careful not to hit other pedestrians when I signal my turns. ;-).

More seriously, I have altered my pedestrian behavior by being more attentive and rarely using headphones.

I did say “on your left” once!

I try to drive through gaps in traffic that I really shouldn’t.

    Wait, I think I’m doing this wrong…

I find myself trying to glance in my bike’s rear-view mirror when pushing our stroller. I think since gripping the stroller feels a lot like gripping my handlebars the muscle memory kicks in.

I pointed at the passenger side window once when driving and making a right turn…

You can do this without anything in your hands. I have looked at the point where my mirror is when I am getting ready to, well, jaywalk. Yes, I seem to be one of those peds I complain about.

All the stop and go traffic on the beltway makes me feel like I’m pedaling sometimes :(

Since I ride more than I drive there are a number of places that I only know a bike appropriate route to and this doesn’t even include trails. I’ll occasionally get asked when I’m driving someplace like that ” why the hell are you taking us thru these alleys?”

Getting from Downtown DC back to VA takes much more thought when I’m driving a car. On the bike, it’s instinctual.

I draft off of other people while walking down the sidewalk. It saves me several minutes per block. Maybe…

I have actually said “passing on your left”, usually while running. But I think I’ve said it a couple times while walking.

If I haven’t driven in a long time, I sometimes unweight my butt when the car is about to go over some bumps. The flip side is when I sit on my recumbent and reach for the seat belt. 😮

I reach for my seat belt on my bike ALL THE TIME. I have a crazy-ugly egg crate on my rear rack, which feels like a backrest. It takes me about a block before I feel ok sitting in the seat without a belt.

Good catch, I do this too.
