New: now it’s a Cyclo-Cross Race! Technically. But still really a crit. No barriers. Similar course as usual, plus maybe a little bit of grass (if so, big open turns only, nothing technical). CX pit rules apply. Use your CX Cat when registering. Masters, your racing age is the age you will turn in 2020 (CX rules). Women can race in Men’s fields one Cat down. Mountain bikes are allowed in all races. Second race of the day $15. Day-of reg $10 late fee. Age 16-18 race your Cat (NO junior categories). USAC 1-day license fee ($10), available for Cat 5 Men & Cat 5 Women ONLY. Cash ONLY on race day. Rain or shine! No refunds (transfers okay till 8/8/19).

Course is a 2.5-km rolling loop on gravel/hardpack farm roads, with one short paved section and NEW grass section (open turns on grass, nothing tight). On gravel there are three right turns and one tight left turn. Gravel tires 32mm+ strongly recommended. Private property; open to pre-ride only on race day. No gravel for me today, just laps around Central Park (the real one, not on Zwift) along with 100’s for the NYRR TCS New York City Marathon Training Series 12M

Completed my first cyclocross race at Bikekineticrit. I raced the single speed race and managed to both finish and not come in last. I also managed to figure out turning on some of the corners although there were a few that slowed me down significantly.

The whole event was really great. Excellent facility, ice cold water, food truck and lots of beer. The Bikenetic folks and other racers were all encouraging. 5 stars, would race again.

Thanks to Casey and Samantha for encouraging me to race.

Super glad to see you come out and race! Sorry I did not get much of a chance to cheer you on. Unfortunately, I was busy ALL day. Can not wait to see you racing cross in a few weeks!
