Director of transportation planning for the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments) was found shot and killed in his Alexandria home on Monday. Alexandria police are treating it as a homicide.

Oh my god. I just met him for the first time last spring at a transportation training seminar. He was an immensely likable person who seemed very knowledgeable and spoke well in public. How tragic. I truly hope they find the culprit.
