Join a Team 21 moderate paced ride (13-14mph) from Shirlington to Bladensburg primarily on dedicated bike paths and lanes. We will take a brief stop at the Bladensburg Visitor Center and then return to D.C. Stopping at District Donuts for a power ring(s). Open to all, no drop, we will meet in Shirlington near the fountain by Harris Teeter. 30ish miles. If you haven’t been on the Antacostia River Trail, here is your chance, we will be going up the Eastside up and back. If you don’t get the dinosaur reference you must go.
Looks like you forgot to add the day and the time. According to the Awficiolish FS Calendar it is Sat, January 28, 10:30am – 2:30pm.

Participantshardg: any guesstimates as to what time you’ll be up in Bladensburg? A few of us northerners are thinking of meeting you there, riding down, then riding back up. Also, do you usually bring a lock for a ride like this, or do you think it’ll be safe to leave our bikes unlocked outside of the donut place?
Thanks!

I would love to go, but QOTM may be exercising her royal prerogative to insist on a hike that day (but in her graciousness, will allow time for a sleaze ride) but if that does not come together, I will attempt to join y’all.

ParticipantI’m crossing my fingers that I can get myself out of bed and make it to this tomorrow! Maybe I can even be a little early and stop by Best Buns for coffee first… (although that may be a little overly hopeful for me on a Saturday).

-rickydI will have to estimate the time we would be in a Bladensburg, and will do so later after I do my evening ride. As far as the lock, I was thinking we could post a sentry or 2 (for a doughnut?) for security. I will get back to you later, just got home from work

Ok, a quick guess is we will be in Bladensburg at 12 noon, if we get there earlier we will wait or do something to be at the Visitor Center at 12:00 before we head south, should anyone want to meet there. We will have 7 or more riders at this point.

ParticipantI plan on attending. I’ll be biking up from Hains Point to Harris Teeter. On the way back, I’ll peel off by HP.
Thanks for offering the ride to all BAFS. I’ve never been on Anacostia trail before the the ride title is interesting.

ParticipantJust north of Bladensburg on Route 1 in Hyattsville is a wonderful Mom n’ Pop bakery named Shortcake if you need a good reason to linger. The Caribbean-style meat pies and the quiche are awesome, and they have plenty of bike parking.
