There were also a lot of pieces of infrastructure that I was not aware of since it’s tucked behind a bunch of buildings.

Do you have a google maps location for that one? I don’t recall seeing that particular invisible bollard when I meandered around yesterday.

ParticipantI’m sorry I missed this; I live at the top of Superman Hill. Did anyone suggest/is it feasible for the current Four Mile Run Trail to have an spur behind the Exxon on Shirlington Road? It would give a more direct route to the W&OD trailhead and the bike lane on Shirlington Road, though it is private property.

We heard something even better:
Bridges! Flyover bridges along that route making the connection above grade!

Flyover bridge wouldn’t be bad. Just make sure that it doesn’t connect directly to the W&OD start since there are many people who stay on 4MRT to avoid all the crossings (and that useless hill at the start) and that would add crossings to be able to get back over to that very nice and friendly path.

That is not typical. I am frequently along Arlington Mill Drive around that time and there are always cars in one direction or the other. Or worse (in terms of ability to cause harm, although not that I have ever seen such harm), county vehicles leaving the site. They all head out at once.

I knew you’d get the joke. If it’s not concrete filled, I might know a guy.

My experience is limited to the 7 am on a Wednesday timeframe. I haven’t ever seen much traffic there at that time. I’m sure it’s a different story when a movie lets out.

ParticipantI like the bulb-outs for the gawkers. That’s one trendy new design feature that gets two thumbs up.
