Much fun, and a beautiful day. Video from the back of the Rookie Race:

Awesome! What bike were you on and what kit were you wearing?

I was there at the hurdles with a camera and a baby stroller. You can see me at 3:52 and 9:04.

I was the guy on the Jamis CX bike with commuter blinkies and mirror still attached, in a white jersey with overstuffed pockets (dry jerseys for the ride home, Diet Mountain Dew bottle, wallet phone etc.) with the Vis 360 light on my helmet and the GoPro on the handle bar. Somebody yelled to me at one point that if I went any slower, I’d need the light.

But I was rather proud of my ride: I achieved my racing objective — no unintended dismounts. Hadn’t ever tried a moving unclip dismount before. That was interesting…

Great ride and great video! Looks like you were passing quite a few people!

I took my son to watch. We got there about 1 p.m. and watched the masters race (I think). My son was quite impressed, especially with the guy we saw bunny hop the obstacles.

Sorry we did not stay for the rookie race. It looked like fun.

I wanted to go to this (and maybe bring the family) but I ended up riding Skyline Drive instead. Looks awesome though, hopefully next year I’ll make the more sensible decision.
