I’d seen this visibility vest six months ago on a blog and thought it was a really neat design but balked at the price (I’m still balking).

Well, I finally broke down and got one a month or so ago after I saw someone here wearing one at an intersection. She really stood out in the vest (very bright, unusual design) and I figured safety must come before pride.

Overall I’m very pleased with it. It weighs nothing and remarkably, I can ball it up and throw it into my bag and it doesn’t get tangled (that said, I wouldn’t let a little kiddie or cat near it). It takes a little practice getting it on (best advice, just stick your head through the neck hole then look for the armholes). Since I’m short I did cut off the bottom row so it is customizable. I like the fact that I will be able to wear it in summer without feeling like I’ve got another layer on.

A few people on the trail have stopped me to ask where I bought it and I may be imagining things, but cars do seem to stop further away from the crosswalks/intersections than before (probably because they are thinking “what the heck is that?!”).

Reminds me of a basketball net! Do you have any pictures you can share (the website’s photos aren’t that great)?

If I’m going to bother wearing a vest I think it should be visible in the daylight as well. White is reflective but it doesn’t look like anything in the daylight, right? A little day-glo goes a long way. I mostly just sport a touring triangle on the back of my bike and some lime reflective strips on the front.

For wearable reflectivity I’ll stick with my geeky reflexite sash.

I think I’d probably wear something underneath it.

Oh the other hand, if you didn’t I’m SURE you’d be noticed in traffic :)

good grief, is it hand-knitted from threads unraveled from the horn of a unicorn?

Darn it, the morning temperature seems a bit nippy so to speak for *that*.

The couple of pictures on the models look quite interesting. The netting design is a bit off-putting though.

I have a reflexite sash too, as well as two other vest options. If I leave before sun-up I’ll don one of those options.

It’s interesting, but pricy. I think I’d make a couple of stitches and permanently attach it to a light jersey, so it would be easy to pull on.

Since I always ride to work in the dark, I wanted a vest that’s really visible. (I usually don’t wear my vest during the day.) It’s not cycling specific and it may look dorky, but my Ansi class 2 safety vest is visible, day or night.
