I think the idea of replacing a corner-adjacent parking space with bike corrals is an EXCELLENT idea. Not only does it free up the sidewalks from bikes being randomly locked to various trees/poles/rails/etc. due to the scarcity of bike racks, it provides more visibility for drivers/cyclists/pedestrians using the intersection due to better sightlines (acts basically like a pedestrian bumpout).
