There’s also an unofficial CX practice group that meets at Gravelly Pt, right now it is 6pm or so on Thursday (also a smaller Tuesday group I think)
Not as fun as actually doing a CX race, since there’s no tape, but it’s a good race simulation when they have this many strong riders, and the course is reasonably representative of what you may encounter:

I would do that sometime, sure. Especially if it was in the 6:00am/6:30am timeframe.
Alternatively/additionally, if anyone wants to ride their CX bikes through Lake Fairfax in the AM, I am always game — assuming trails are dry enough to avoid damage (which they may not be just now). I typically enter at Tamrack around 6:45-7am and exit at the ice rink around 7:30-45, depending on pace. Could also meet at ice rink and ride the other way (which is arguably the better way to ride, just less “on the way” for me). It’s rideable on 32mm tires, but a little more carefree on the 38/42 setup I’m running now.

I was talking to Cyndi about it this morning! Especially since the post-work time slot is tougher to do now. We were thinking of doing Bluemont sometime since it’s more conveniently located than Gravelly Pt, but neither of us know the course.

ParticipantThe Kid does. You just go up and down the hill to the old farm house.

I don’t think I’ve ridden the regular Bluemont trail more than twice, ever, so yeah… no idea!

I would definitely be in for this — assuming early enough. I’ve ridden that trail exactly twice too — that night ride around Halloween last year (probably same time as vvill).

ParticipantThe problem with bluemont is that there are multiple trail crossings. There is a great run up though.

So Matt and Hozn can we arm twist you into leading us through the course one morning early next week if the forecast deluge turns out being a false alarm?

ParticipantMaybe Matt can lead? I will refresh my memory from the link Tim posted, though, and am happy to try to pick through it. Otherwise, yeah! Though looking at the forecast, seems like late week.
