while I hate to speculate in matters like this, I can see how this could occur. Hopefully the cyclist is OK, and it really wasn’t a hit and run, or they catch the person if it was.

The tacoed wheel could’ve happened if the cyclist had a medical emergency on the bike and missed the ramp, nailing the curb head on.

It always freaks me out when these things happen on the same stretches of road I ride on every day. Hope they find out the cause of the accident, but more than anything I hope the cyclist recovers fully.

Arlnow has updated their report and ACPD again considered it a hit-and-run.

When I first read the report I said sotto voce that the cause of the medical emergency was being hit by a car. I sincerely hope the driver comes forward.
