I second the recommendation. I initially ordered the skinnys, but they seemed a bit too tight in the calves and thighs, so I got a pair of the regular fit, which are amazing. I used to hate riding in jeans, but now I commute in jeans three times a week (two days because I have class after work, plus casual Friday) and enjoy it. I’ve lost some weight since I got the skinnys, and I plan to lose quite a bit more, so I ultimately decided to keep them, since they should fit great after the next 5 pounds or so come off. I’m now worried that the regular fit will be too big in a few months :(

My normal sized husband ordered some Levis cycling jeans, and has been very happy with them. They look a bit tight – so I am very happy with them – but he says they are the most comfortable jeans he owns. Given that a lot of his day-job involves getting down to toddler level, the stretchiness has come in handy.

Basically all jeans are at least a little tight in the thighs for him, and these are no exceptions. It seems odd to me that jeans made for cyclists wouldn’t be move forgiving in the thighs…

In my younger days I used to get jeans a couple inches too big in the waist, so they would fit my thighs. Somehow, things have evened out since then. Maybe Levi’s changed their sizing?

I commuted comfortably this morning in old regular jeans (with a pair of long johns between me and my Calvin Kleins). Old soft jeans that have gotten a little stretched out at the knees work pretty well for me in cold/windy weather.

Have any women on the forum tried the Novara cycling jeans at REI? They seemed like they might be a good option for some, but weren’t long enough for me. (Unfortunately, Swrve doesn’t have a womens’ line.)

I’ve got a pair of the Levi’s. They’re just sort of so-so. Waist and length are right, but the thighs and calves are tight, even with the stretch fabric. For the added 15-20 bucks, I’d try the ones Tim was talking about. I’d be more likely to wear them more often.
