FYI–I just wanted to put in my two cents that Kendra is a pretty amazing local athlete. She did the same Ironman NYC race that I did this summer and is in another league when it comes to elite fitness. I started the swim with her at about the same time and the only time I saw her the rest of the day was when she passed on me on the running course, when she was doing her second loop 8 miles ahead of me!

She’s got a pretty good blog here: http://chitoandkgo.com which has some very inspiring reading.

This benefit event at Bailey’s should be fun!

The DC Tri Club is having a happy hour the same night in Ballston, but I think I could persuade myself to go to this one instead. Actually, it might be a good idea to contact the club and see if they could encourage people to go to Bailey’s, making that their monthly happy hour. (Or maybe you’ve done this already.) You could get an even bigger crowd of tri enthusiasts that way.

FYI: I just sent the OP a PM pointing out that there are two Bailey’s in Arlington (Crystal City and Ballston) and nowhere does it state which is the event’s location. Stay tuned…

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The fest will take place at the Bailey’s in Ballston. I updated this link accordingly: http://www.tinyurl.com/teampoppytony
    Again, many thanks!

Thank you, PotomacCyclist. I am also a DC Tri Club member :) Several of my Club pals are planning to go to both events since the metro will link them together! If you plan to do that, I recommend reserving your tickets online (http://www.tinyurl.com/teampoppytony) before the event so you can just cruise on in, pick up your raffle tickets that will be waiting for you at the door, and start picking the prizes you want to win. Buying them at the door will take a little longer and might not give you enough time to see all of the prizes since the list keeps growing and growing!

Unfortunately, neither event could be rescheduled, but that just means more prizes for those who can make it (like you!).
